Eagle Rock in Topanga State Park
Topanga State Park is in the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, and we're dayhiking there today to a spot called Eagle Rock.

Lunch is at Eagle Rock today. One guy on the hike today,  Northrop retireee, told me that when he was a kid growing up in Topanga Canyon it was named Elephant Rock. I think I can picture an elephant there, but I don't see an eagle.

  Spring means flowers

I didn't know why it was called Eagle Rock, but now I do
